Here are 5 Restaurants in Westlands You Need To Check Out

Westlands is the neighborhood that’s home to most of the city’s bars and restaurants. As more businesses and residents continue to shift towards Westlands, one can be spoiled for choice concerning restaurants to go. It’s a growing, busting, upscale town, that is popular for its pop culture and night life.

However if you’re unsure about where you start here are a few suggestions to begin with:

1. Haandi Restaurant.

Best suited for vegetarians, but they prepare some Indian meat dishes as well.  Food is perfectly spiced and can be adapted to your own tastes. Atmosphere is friendly and efficient and quiet enough for a good conversation. The main dishes are plentiful and the naan is outstanding. There is fast service and overall relaxed atmosphere.

2. J’s Fresh Bar & Kitchen

It’s located off of Waiyaki Way, the main road in Nairobi. From a converted colonial house, it’s a covered outdoor venue with hanging plant pots over rustic wooden tables and benches. There are a couple of raised bar stool areas on long tables and an indoor and outdoor bar. Plenty of restrooms. The music is on point on Thursday’s with a different live event.

3. Abyssinia.

Nairobi has an abundant selection of Ethiopian restaurants to choose from. One of the best is Abyssinia in Brookside, Westlands. Tucked away in a suburb, this restaurant has comfortable outdoor seating shaded by large trees. Wash down the spicy cuisine with Ethiopian beer or sparkling water. It’s also an excellent value.

4. Mama Rocks at The Alchemist Bar

The Alchemist Bar is a outdoor yard with different food options. There is the well known burger truck called Mama Rocks, but you can eat Pizza, too. Chill out in the lounge seats and watch a movie on Tuesday or go to another event on another day. The burgers are really great. The crowd is young and mostly European. The prices fair, the beer are European too. The Alchemist Bar is the hottest spot in town for a night out in Westlands.

5. Urban Eatery

Known for good food, and even better ambiance, the restaurant is a great place to have a birthday, or enjoy an outing with friends or family. Located at the Delta in Westlands, the restaurant comprises of different restaurants in one and a bar, in case you want a few options.
