Traveling is expensive, especially traveling luxuriously. Bridie Wilkins, a 23 year old fashion blogger, would stop at nothing to ensure that she gets value out of her travels. As a result she safes $800 (about kshs 80,000) of her monthly salary, so she can travel the world luxuriously, and doesn’t mind skimping out on food and transport money to ensure her goal.
She doesn’t think twice about restricting her diet to things such as canned fish — she believes saving for transport is worth the sacrifice.
At her tender age, she has already checked into resorts in 19 countries around the world. She will soon add Copenhagen, Los Angeles, and Mexico to her growing travel list.
Among her favorite destinations are the Anantara Uluwatu hotel in Bali, Velassaru island in the Maldives, and the Grand Hotel Angiolieri near Sorrento, Italy, the Le Quattro Dame suites in Rome and the Radisson Blu Le Metropolitan in Paris.
Her experiences have given her a new zest for life and taught her a lot, and she continues to restrict other parts of her life to enjoy this even further.
What do you think, would you do something like this? And do you think it’s worth it?
