Amani Gardens Inn has a 50-year reputation of warm hospitality and quiet gardens. Located in Westlands, and centrally located in Nairobi, they are conveniently close to major shopping malls, banking centers, and restaurants, yet the place still retains the feel of a retreat in the countryside with their old English-style buildings and ancient trees.
You can spend the morning quietly reading under a 75-year old jacaranda tree. The highlight however, is their pizza from their brick oven in the garden.
I had the pleasure of trying them, and they serve them on wooden boards, straight out of the oven. You may burn your tongue while taking your first few bites, but the pizza’s cheesy goodness may leave you desperately munching on regardless.
The Pizza crust is thin and crunchy, allowing you to enjoy every mouthful. You just need to try it yourself. Plus a treat for the health freaks, they also have a gluten free pizza option. They are Nairobi’s first and only gluten free pizzas!
Besides the deliciously hot pizza, the staff is very friendly and relatively fast at serving. The overall ambiance is picture worthy, with an old settling theme that’ll make you feel as though you’ve traveled back to a more simpler time.
